Robotic Assisted Partial Knee Replacement

This is a 57 year old female who presented with severe medial sided knee pain and severe arthritis of the medial compartment. Despite having mild patellofemoral disease, she was still felt to be an appropriate candidate for partial knee replacement. She underwent outpatient, robotic assisted partial knee replacement using Mako robotic technology. Using a CT scan, a preoperative plan was created to provide optimal implant positioning, sizing, and ligamentous balance. The robotic arm adds precision to bone preparation during surgery by establishing haptic boundaries and soft tissue protection.
